Family Christian and Ann Künzi-Adcock, would be happy to welcome you!

Our history

– In the same place as the Hotel Steinbock stands today, in 1914 Peter Künzi and his wife Marie built the small restaurant “Schwizerhüsli”.

– In 1932 it was extended and some bedrooms were built on.

– Hermann took over the guesthouse from his father Peter in the 1930s. In 1970 Hermann together with his two sons, Rudi and Christian, rebuilt the restaurant and kitchen and the hotel was renamed Hotel Steinbock.

– In 1980 Christian Künzi and his wife Ann took over the business.

– At the beginning of the 1990s, a hydroelectric power station was built near Leitibach, which replaced the oil generator. The hydroelectric power station supplies the hotel with a maximum of 30Kw.

– In 2004, the drinking water supply was renewed.

– In October 2011, a storm destroyed a total of five bridges in the valley. The restaurants in the valley were also damaged. In the summer of 2012, most of the damage was repaired. However changes to the scenery remain.

– In 2013 the hanging bridge was renewed.
