Journey
On foot:
The walk from Kandersteg to Steinbock follows the the River Kander and takes about 2 ½ hours. Use the foot path when possible.
Private car:
This is a toll road (price: CHF. 15.- return) Ticket machine at the beginning of the Gasterntal road. Also available at the Tourist Information office, Alpstuebli (Restaurant next to the cable car station) or you can buy one when you arrive.
The Gasterntal road is a mountain road. A timed one-way system operates through the gorge (the first 5 min. of the journey)
